Miss Rivera - I don't think you have this section for a fan email, but I wanted to say that I heard you sing the alto part in the Bach B minor Mass last night here in Birmingham and your singing was really magnificent. You have an exceptionally authentic approach to Bach, and what I liked most of all is the way you seemed to be a part of the orchestra in terms of your vocal instrument. I have enjoyed your appearances on Opera Now, particularly the discussion of Mozart's Sesto. We were so fortunate to have you here for this performance. I am just sorry that the chorus isn't up to the level of our fine orchestra. These are all working non-musicians, and they didn't have the rehearsal time they needed for this difficult music. By the way, I am an American history college professor, and my colleague from our vocal music area thought that you closing Agnus Dei was the most moving part of the performance. Thanks for making this performance of the Mass one to remember.

Dear Professor Nicholas,
Thank you very much for your kind words. I thoroughly enjoyed performing in Alabama, and although I didn't initiate this section for so called "fan mail" I always greatly appreciate it. I love knowing and connecting with those of you who were in the audience. All the best to you!
